Version 2026-10. This notice covers applications made through jobs.peerlessprotectiongroup.com.
Peerless Protection Group ("Peerless", "we") is an Edmonton-based security firm. This notice explains what we collect when you apply to work with us, why, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and how to see or correct it. Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) applies.
We use your application to decide whether to engage you as an independent contractor: to check it against the posting's requirements, to contact you about this application and an interview, and, if you are approved, to add you to our roster. If you tick the optional box on the form, we may also contact you about future work. We do not sell your information or use it for marketing.
Your name, email, phone number and the area you are based in; your Alberta security licence number and expiry date; your first aid expiry date; your answers about your Class 5 licence, driver's abstract, use-of-force and AED training, years of experience, availability, entitlement to work in Canada and WCB Alberta account; and how you heard about us. For Level 2 postings, we also collect your answers about your background, private investigator licence and EMR certification, and the one-page bio PDF you upload, including the headshot in it.
We also record the date you applied, which version of this notice you agreed to, and whether you agreed to be contacted about future work. The form does not ask for your date of birth, social insurance number, citizenship, gender, health or criminal record.
Only the Peerless staff who handle hiring. In our hiring system, your bio PDF stays locked until your application has been pre-screened on your form answers, and who opened which application, and when, is recorded in an access log.
We store and manage applications in Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Google Drive and Gmail). We use Cloudflare Turnstile on the application form to keep out automated spam; it checks technical information about your browser and connection, such as your IP address. Google and Cloudflare are service providers that may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of those countries.
You can ask for written information about our policies and practices for service providers outside Canada, and ask questions about how they collect, use, disclose or store your information, by contacting our Privacy Officer at careers@
The application form and the confirmation page do not use analytics. The openings list and the posting pages use Google Analytics to count visits. It does not receive anything you type into the application form.
We keep your application for 12 months from the day you apply, then delete it, including your bio PDF. If you are approved to our roster, we keep your file for as long as you are on the roster.
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your application, or withdraw your permission to be contacted about future work. Email careers@
If your information is lost, or accessed or disclosed without authorization, and there is a real risk of significant harm to you, we will report it to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta and notify you as PIPA requires.
